2023 OSHA 300a Important Dates

There are two primary dates that OSHA requires the OSHA 300a summary to be posted and filed.  The dates are below:

Workplace Posting Dates -  February 1 - April 30

An OSHA 300A log must be posted conspicuously in the workplace from February 1 to April 30 every year for most employers.  The form must be visible to all staff in the workplace and employees have the right to request a copy of the records at any time.  The summary form should be posted and maintain the privacy of any affected workers.

Filing Deadline - March 2, 2023

March 2, 2023, is the deadline to file OSHA300a logs electronically for the previous calendar year.  The submissions must be filed electronically for each establishment for the injury and illness data for the previous year.  Records can be submitted directly through the Injury Tracking Application (ITA) or through OSHA300.com available online.

Conclusion:

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) determined that the failure to post or file a 300a Summary will have a maximum penalty of $13,494 per violation in a recent memo filed on January 10, 2020  (https://www.osha.gov/penalties memo).

Use the dates above as a quick reference for updating your OSHA 300a Summary.
